Lake County Nursery Field and container production area tour
Lake County Nursery is located in Northern Ohio about
an hour East of Cleveland along beautiful Lake Erie. The nursery covers about 1000 acres
of prime growing land.
In the past the growing of plants in
the field was the major emphasis. Trees grown in the field are still a very important
product line with production numbers increasing every year.
Another important product line are Lake County's
B&B evergreen shrubs. These plants are always in demand at the nursery.
Lake County Nursery has been
increasing its container production area on a regular basis. Evergreen shrubs in 3 and 5
gallon containers are available in good quantity.
A new container production area was added this fall.
This will allow Lake County to grow more 5 gallon and 7 gallon containers.
This new area will also free up other
areas that will be used to produce a large number of container grown trees. Larger
quantities of ornamental and shade trees will be available in the Summer of 2000.
Lake County Nursery also produces a large number of
perennials, grasses, ferns, ground covers and vines.
