For many years this shows a typical digging crew that has harvested plants at Sherman Nursery Company.

The shrubs were dug, dirt removed from the roots and hand loaded into the dump truck. One change made to some tractors is the addition of an additional pair of wheels. This allows the tractor to 'float' across the field in poor conditions.

Plants are loaded into the dump bed and secured by rope. The truck returns to the cold storage buildings and the plants are stored until they can be graded.
